Fleece is an easy-care insulation material that effectively draws humidity out in a layering system. Because fleece is not very wind-resistant, it can be worn with a matching functional jacket if required. Just how warm fleece is depends on the material thickness and type of construction.

• The material thickness of a fleece is given in grams per square metre (g/m2).
• The higher the number of grams, the thicker and warmer the fleece is.
• Numbers in product names, e.g. Nanuk 100, show the material thickness.
• Material thicknesses at Jack Wolfskin range from Nanuk 100 (g/m²) to Nanuk 400 (g/m²).

Nanuk 100

The lightest and thinnest Jack Wolfskin fleece which is used for the Gecko Kids as well as the Sandpiper boys/girls fleece.

Nanuk 150

This fleece is commonly used in Jack Wolfskin's 3-in-1 jackets as a lighter insulation layer for spring and fall weather. Example fleece for this category are Polar Bear boys/girls (a mix of Nanuk 150 & 100) as well as the Kirkwood boys/girls.

Nanuk 200

The second warmest fleece from Jack Wolfskin is also used for 3-in-1 winter jackets as a warmer insulation layer, but it also works well in cold spring/fall days. Jack Wolfskin product examples are the Kids Thunder Bay as well as the Caribou Lodge Hoodie.

Nanuk 300
